Norwich Baptist Church is dedicated to helping people discover, accept, and know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour. As such, we want people facing various needs within our church community and the wider community to know the love of God in a tangible way through helping to meet their needs. It is a sad reality that in our community there are people who have no home to live in. People who struggle to find enough food.
Our desire to help other people less fortunate than ourselves should come from the heart change within us! To be able to share the gospel with people who are physically hungry, we need to feed them first! The very act of providing a meal is the beginning of seeing a potential change in a person’s life as they see the power of the gospel at work in us.
‘Meals of Hope’, does exactly what the name suggests! We bring the HOPE of the gospel, the HOPE of knowing Jesus into the lives of people by showing the love of Jesus in the provision of food and material help.
As a fellowship we provide 40 - 50 meals every Sunday afternoon to the homeless in our area. If you feel you could help with meals or pratical needs, please don't hesitate to reach out.
Matthew 25 v 34 - 40
“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’
“Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’
“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
As a church in the midst of Covid19, we wanted a way to reach out to those in our township that we would not have the opportunity to meet with otherwise. We made our first issue of "The Cornerstone" and distributed it to our township as a way for them to hear the gospel and learn about our fellowship. We invite you to be praying with us, that hearts would be changed and lives transformed as they read the truths of the gospel. Our hope is to send out 4 issues a year. Join us for a delicious pork roast to end the summer and enjoy a time of friendship and fellowship with those in our community.
